Mainframe Engineer II

Job Summary

Contributing to the end-to-end development and maintenance of mainframe applications, the full-time remote Mainframe Engineer II will enhance existing systems and support production processes while applying strong analytical skills to interpret legacy code.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain, and integrate applications/systems while improving existing processes
• Maintain and enhance mainframe applications through small-to-moderate scope changes across a complex legacy system
• Participate in a rotating production support schedule to support nightly batch processing

Required qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in full-stack application development, including COBOL, DB2, SQL, JCL, and Control-M
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to modify complex, undocumented legacy logic
• Working knowledge of TSO / ISPF for z/OS
• Experience with file transfer protocols such as FTP, SFTP, or NDM
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn new technologies and business processes
