Mainframe Modernization Consultant

Job Summary

Supporting modernization initiatives, the full-time Mainframe Modernization Consultant will analyze mainframe systems, implement migration strategies, and collaborate with architects and delivery teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct application assessments and identify modernization opportunities
• Execute code conversion and integration with modern platforms
• Prepare technical documentation, estimate, and assist in testing phases

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe systems and 3+ years in modernization projects
• Expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and Assembler
• Knowledge of modernization frameworks and tools, including AI/GenAI based tooling
• Exposure to APIs, microservices, and cloud integration (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience executing at least one mainframe modernization assessment and program
