Job Summary
A company is looking for a Software Engineer III - Mainframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and research legacy mainframe applications and data structures (primarily VSAM)
- Design, develop, and execute COBOL and JCL batch jobs to extract and prepare data for migration
- Collaborate with ETL and SQL Server development teams to normalize and transfer data into vendor-hosted applications
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in mainframe software development
- Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, IBM z/OS, TSO/ISPF, and VSAM
- Experience creating extract jobs for data migration initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to reverse-engineer legacy systems with minimal documentation
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in sprint-based delivery
