Mainframe Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mainframe Sr. Software Engineer (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients and IT personnel to analyze system requests and develop specifications for new and existing mainframe applications
• Prepare unit and integration test plans, conduct testing, and document findings for problem resolution
• Serve as a project lead for smaller projects and mentor less experienced engineers

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of experience in system development and support for mainframe applications
• Proficient in Assembler coding and mastery of mainframe development tools such as COBOL, JCL, and CICS
• Experience in the insurance industry is a plus
• Familiarity with systems development life cycle methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Test-Driven Development)
