Mainframe Storage Engineer

Job Summary

Managing daily storage management activities, the full-time Mainframe Storage Engineer will perform troubleshooting, implement storage solutions, and lead disaster recovery drills while providing on-call support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily storage management activities including monitoring and housekeeping batch jobs
• Troubleshoot space issues, implement storage type changes, and manage core system backups
• Lead disaster recovery drills and provide direction to team members during outages

Required qualifications

• Experience with z/OS Storage Management and IBM TS7700 grids
• Knowledge of GDPS and storage replication for Tape and DASD
• Ability to troubleshoot JCL errors and IBM grid failures
• Experience in configuring Tape and DASD hardware devices
• Familiarity with incident, change, and problem processes
