Mainframe Systems Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mainframe Systems Engineer to oversee and administer the enterprise mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive z/OS technology development initiatives and support mainframe infrastructure
• Monitor and manage mainframe performance and storage subsystems
• Provide support for mission-critical application infrastructure and serve on a rotational on-call support team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology, MIS, CIS, or related field preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with mainframe z/OS internals and Parallel Sysplex
• 4+ years of experience with mainframe hardware, software, and third-party installation support
• Experience in designing and supporting mainframe disk (DASD) and tape storage infrastructure
• Experience writing test scripts and performing testing verifications
