Job Summary
Seeking a skilled Mainframe zVM System Programmer for a fully remote contract position, responsible for system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and daily operations of the mainframe environment over a duration of 2.5 years.
Key responsibilities:
- Install and maintain z/VM operating systems, applying updates and ensuring system security
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize settings for efficient workload processing
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, conduct health checks, and manage backups and recovery processes
Required qualifications:
- Deep understanding of the z/VM operating system and its components
- Familiarity with mainframe hardware components and system-level operations
- Experience with Velocity and Broadcom VM software
- Proficiency in administering Guest VM and Linux environments
