Major Gifts Officer

Job Summary

Responsible for managing a portfolio of major-gift donors and prospects, the full-time remote Major Gifts Officer will qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships for five- and six-figure commitments while collaborating with various teams to enhance donor engagement and maintain accurate records in Salesforce.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 100-150 major-gift prospects, overseeing the full gift cycle from qualification to stewardship
• Develop and implement individualized cultivation and solicitation plans aligned with donor interests and organizational priorities
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to enhance donor engagement and maintain accurate pipeline data

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of front-line fundraising experience with a proven record of closing five- and six-figure commitments
• Demonstrated ability to initiate donor relationships through cold outreach and sustained engagement
• Familiarity with the policy, economic, and intellectual interests relevant to the donor community
• Experience using CRM platforms, specifically Salesforce, for managing donor records and activities
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a complex national portfolio independently
