Major Gifts Officer - CA

Job Summary

To support a growing fundraising initiative, the full-time salaried Major Gifts Officer - CA will build and execute a comprehensive major gifts strategy, focusing on securing significant donations from high-capacity donors and family foundations across a multi-state region, primarily the San Francisco Bay Area, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Secure five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts from individuals and family foundations to support the organization's mission
• Manage a portfolio of 75 donors, leveraging wealth analytics to identify and cultivate new prospects
• Maintain an active schedule of moves management, engaging donors through various communication methods and events

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in individual, foundation, and corporate giving, with at least 2 years as a frontline fundraiser
• Proven ability to strategically engage major gift prospects and increase donor contributions year-over-year
• Solid knowledge of IRS guidelines for charitable contributions and charity accountability standards
• Proficiency with donor database software such as Raiser's Edge and Microsoft Office Suite
