Manager of Material Science

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Manager, Material Scientist to support and scale research and development capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead physicochemical characterization of drug substances and evaluate key drug properties to inform formulation strategy
• Design and interpret excipient compatibility studies and manage relationships with external partners for analytical testing and product development
• Contribute to building internal capabilities and troubleshooting formulation and material-related issues across development and commercial settings

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with relevant experience in R&D and/or product development
• 2-5+ years of prior people management experience with the ability to lead technical teams
• Strong background in material characterization techniques and analytical methods used in pharmaceutical development
• Deep understanding of physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and drug material properties
• Experience working cross-functionally to support product development and troubleshooting efforts
