Manager of Risk Assessment

Job Summary

Focused on proactively identifying and assessing operational risks, the full-time Manager of Risk Identification & Assessment will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and American Express policies while strengthening business resilience across Global Lounges, Travel & Lifestyle Services, and U.S. Insurance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide identification of risks throughout business processes and systems in collaboration with business process owners
• Facilitate risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards through periodic reviews and updates
• Manage control monitoring and compile key operational risk trends to support informed decision-making by senior management

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in operational risk management, particularly within Risk and/or Internal Audit functions
• Strong project management skills with a solid understanding of operational risk management lifecycle activities
• Experience in process governance, aligning processes with policies and regulatory frameworks
• Proficient analytical skills to evaluate data, identify trends, and assess risk scenarios
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and advanced analytics to enhance operational risk management practices
