Manager of Systems and Database Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the Systems and Database Engineering team in a full-time remote capacity, the Manager of Systems and Database Engineering will oversee the operation of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Oracle database infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, performance, and compliance while managing staff development and cross-functional coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and set departmental goals aligned with strategic priorities, while managing team performance and development
• Oversee the design and administration of the University's ERP infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, and compliance across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, including system upgrades and integrations, while utilizing project management methodologies to track progress and communicate with stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Minimum of five years of experience with enterprise Oracle Database systems and OCI, including high-availability configurations
• Proven experience deploying and managing database workloads within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience supporting complex PeopleSoft ERP environments within OCI
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools, such as Terraform and Ansible
