Job Summary

As a key player in a hybrid role, the Managing Director, California Licensed, will oversee financial management, operational leadership, and client service initiatives for a leading law firm's Emerging Growth & Venture Capital platform, contributing to strategic growth while collaborating with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee pitch and proposal activity, budgeting, and compliance with client guidelines while tracking key financial KPIs
• Act as the primary business liaison between practice leadership and internal teams, optimizing workflows and resource allocation
• Partner with pricing and legal project management teams to develop fee arrangements and address client administrative needs

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of legal or law firm experience in practice management or professional services business operations
• Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or JD preferred
• Proven ability to communicate complex financial and operational information to senior leadership
• Experience in driving growth and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills with a focus on client service
