Job Summary
As a key member of the leadership team, the full-time salaried Managing Director, Excess Casualty will shape business strategy, drive profitable growth, strengthen broker relationships, and develop talent within the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management oversight of staff to effectively write and retain profitable business aligned with division objectives
- Assist underwriting personnel in analyzing and evaluating risk, making sound underwriting decisions, and managing complex risks
- Develop and execute strategies that enhance underwriting performance and strengthen market presence within the specialty insurance marketplace
Required qualifications
- Ten years or more of leadership experience in underwriting, product development, or related functions within the property and casualty industry
- Demonstrated experience in business strategy and tactical application, with a proven ability to lead and mentor employees
- Bachelor's degree or comparable industry experience; high school diploma or equivalent required
- CPCU, ASLI, ARM, or equivalent designations preferred, along with evidence of ongoing education in the insurance industry
- Solid technical knowledge of commercial insurance forms, rates, and rules
