Managing Director, Foundation Partnerships

Job Summary

Stewarding a portfolio of national foundation partners, the full-time Managing Director, Foundation Partnerships will manage significant seven-figure investments, engage with sophisticated funders, and lead grant management efforts while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for foundation partners
• Pursue and engage new foundations through customized cultivation plans and compelling narratives
• Coach and mentor team members on best practices in portfolio management and foundation engagement

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience managing complex institutional relationships, particularly with national foundations
• Proven ability to build strategic relationships with funders and cross-functional colleagues
• Strong communication skills to create persuasive donor-facing narratives and reports
• Experience in education, youth development, or workforce development preferred
• Ability to manage ambiguity and coordinate across a large organization effectively
