Job Summary

Providing comprehensive editorial oversight of NBA news coverage, the full-time remote Managing Editor, NBA will manage a team of reporters, drive creative storytelling around NBA topics, and collaborate with various stakeholders to optimize performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a staff of reporters and editors to ensure timely delivery of news and distinct reporting
• Drive creative ideas around daily NBA storylines to advance current news and provoke thoughtful discussions
• Collaborate with video and audio producers to create a cohesive audience experience across all platforms

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in digital sports journalism, including management experience
• High-level knowledge of the NBA and a competitive drive in the sports landscape
• Demonstrated experience in recognizing, assigning, and editing breaking news
• Advanced ability to generate engaging story ideas that drive audience growth
• Expertise in mentoring writers and editors, with a strong understanding of editing tasks and reporting standards
