Mandarin Chinese Transcriber

Job Summary

To support the development of talk-to-text technology, the contracted Mandarin Chinese Simplified Transcriber will accurately transcribe audio files while adhering to client-specific guidelines, working remotely on a flexible schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe a variety of audio files according to client-specific Written Domain conventions (WDCs)
• Maintain an understanding of client guidelines and produce high-quality, timely work for all transcription projects
• Identify and report technical issues or transcription concerns to the Division Services Manager

Required qualifications

• Native-level (C2) proficiency in Mandarin Chinese Simplified, including reading and writing skills
• Excellent grammar, orthography, and punctuation, with an assessment required
• Possession of an Upwork profile or willingness to create one
• High-speed internet access and a personal computer
• Access to email for communication
