Mapper Trainee

Job Summary

To support the development of mapping skills, the full-time Mapper Trainee will engage in an on-the-job training program for up to 12 months, focusing on learning legal descriptions, property documents, and title plant standards while working remotely from within 50 miles of Orlando or Palm Harbor, FL.

Key responsibilities

• Learn to obtain and utilize knowledge of legal descriptions and property documents to accurately map and post legal descriptions into the title plant
• Research and interpret public records documents, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate information is posted
• Utilize ArcGIS/ICOMAP to map legal descriptions in the Fund's GIS environment and manually map legal descriptions onto paper code sheet maps

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred experience with ArcGIS or Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD)
• Familiarity with public records, property documents, and legal descriptions is preferred
• Knowledge of the Public Land Survey System and cadastral maps/surveys is preferred
• Experience demonstrating the ability to learn progressive job tasks in a production environment is preferred
