Mapping Analyst

Job Summary

To ensure the integrity of SLAM maps for Tally robots, the contract Mapping Analyst will remotely monitor map health, generate new maps, and patch existing ones using proprietary tools while working 40 hours per week in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor map quality and identify localization failures or navigation errors across the robot fleet
• Remotely control robots to generate fresh SLAM maps when necessary
• Edit and patch maps using image editing software to correct artifacts and improve navigation accuracy

Required qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a technical, spatial-data, robotics, or GIS-adjacent role
• Comfort with remote robot operation or a strong aptitude for learning proprietary robotics tooling
• Hands-on experience with image/photo editing software (e.g., Photoshop, GIMP)
• Basic understanding of SLAM, lidar data, or occupancy-grid mapping concepts
• Strong attention to detail to identify subtle map artifacts or misalignments
