MariaDB DBA/Technical Architect

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled MariaDB DBA/Technical Architect for a remote contract position, responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing a distributed multi-site MariaDB instance to support an on-premises ServiceNow implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize installations of MariaDB across multiple environments, including architecture, design, installation support, configuration, and maintenance
• Configure and maintain database replication within and across multiple sites to ensure performance and high availability
• Collaborate with ServiceNow administrators and stakeholders to align database utilization with business needs and lead technical workshops

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 3-5+ years of MariaDB development or technical consulting experience, with a preference for MariaDB-specific skills
• Strong understanding of InnoDB internals and transaction behavior
• Experience with performance tuning, high-availability, replication, and database scaling architecture
• Proficiency in scripting (Python/Bash) for automation
