MariaDB Technical Architect

Job Summary

Leading database design and optimization in a remote contract role, the MariaDB Technical Architect will maintain and optimize installations of MariaDB across multiple environments while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure system reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize installations of MariaDB, including architecture, design, installation support, configuration, and maintenance
• Configure and maintain database replication to ensure performance and high availability across multiple sites
• Collaborate with stakeholders and Business Analysts to translate business needs into technical specifications and lead technical workshops

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 3-5+ years of MariaDB development or technical consulting experience
• Strong understanding of InnoDB internals and transaction behavior
• Practical experience with performance tuning, high-availability, replication, and database scaling architecture
• Proficiency in scripting (Python/Bash) for automation
