Marine Designer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the Marine Designer will support the development and construction of maritime vessels by utilizing ShipConstructor to create detailed 2D and 3D designs, manage complex systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs and technical drawings for marine vessels using ShipConstructor and AutoCAD
• Layout and route complex marine systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards
• Create accurate fabrication drawings and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ShipConstructor database

Required qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree or technical certification in Drafting or Engineering Technology preferred
• 2 to 10+ years of CAD drafting and design experience in the marine/shipbuilding industry
• Proficiency in ShipConstructor and familiarity with complementary software such as AutoCAD and Rhino
• Strong understanding of ship construction techniques and the ability to interpret technical specifications
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
