Job Summary
Detail-oriented Marine Drafters (AutoCAD) will work remotely in a full-time capacity, translating engineering concepts and field data into accurate 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings while collaborating with naval architects and production teams to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical, structural, electrical, and outfitting CAD drawings for marine components and vessel layouts using AutoCAD
- Translate preliminary sketches and engineering calculations into production-ready schematics and manufacturing drawings
- Ensure all drawings adhere to marine industry classification standards and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams for clarity and efficiency
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of drafting experience in a mechanical, shipbuilding, or marine manufacturing environment
- Proven proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting using AutoCAD; familiarity with complementary software is desirable
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Drafting, or a related technical field is preferred
- Solid understanding of marine engineering principles, structural fabrication, and drafting standards
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
