Job Summary

Detail-oriented Marine Drafters (AutoCAD) will work remotely to translate engineering concepts and field data into accurate 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings, collaborating with naval architects and production teams to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop detailed mechanical, structural, electrical, and outfitting CAD drawings for marine components and vessel layouts using AutoCAD
  • Translate preliminary sketches, engineering calculations, and field measurements into production-ready schematics and manufacturing drawings
  • Ensure all drawings and designs adhere to marine industry classification standards and maintain accurate documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Required qualifications
  • Associate's/Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Drafting, or a related technical field preferred
  • 2+ years of drafting experience in a mechanical, shipbuilding, or marine manufacturing environment
  • Proven proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting using AutoCAD; familiarity with complementary software is highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of marine engineering principles, structural fabrication, and drafting standards
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
