Marine Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer with design integration experience in shipboard mechanical systems, the full-time position will focus on providing technical evaluations of vendor designs, assessing system performance, and writing technical papers on compliance with USCG/ABS standards, all while working remotely with occasional travel.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical evaluations of vendor-proposed system designs and assess design maturity and performance
• Write technical papers on the risks of systems meeting USCG/ABS design standards
• Conduct cost estimations for proposed ship construction changes and perform root cause analysis of shipboard failures

Required qualifications:

• BS degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• Four (4) to twelve (12) years of experience in the shipbuilding industry
• Ability to perform requirements analysis, concept design, and systems integration
• Thorough understanding of ABS, USCG, and other regulatory agency rules related to shipboard systems
• Experience in reviewing/modifying drawings and technical writing
