Marketing and Outreach Director

Job Summary

Creating and implementing comprehensive marketing and outreach initiatives, the full-time Assistant Director of Marketing and Outreach will oversee strategic development of campus campaigns, manage large-scale events, and supervise student employees in Norfolk, VA.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute marketing and outreach programs to support the Recreation and Wellness department
• Plan and manage large-scale signature events and community outreach campaigns
• Hire, train, and supervise student employees while maintaining current certifications in marketing and outreach

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Higher Education Administration, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent professional experience
• Experience in planning and executing medium-to-large scale events or community outreach campaigns
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Enterprise Marketing, HTML, InDesign, and CRM platforms
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
