Job Summary
To ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations, the full-time Maryland Certified Professional Coder will manage diagnostic and procedure coding, assist with complex coding queries, and support the development of educational materials while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for surgical and professional services
- Resolve complex coding cases and contribute to coding education materials
- Collaborate with clinical teams to implement coding guidelines and maintain quality measures
Required qualifications:
- Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
- At least four years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
- Associates degree in health administration or equivalent experience required
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision
