Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding standards, the full-time Maryland Certified Professional Coder will manage diagnostic and procedure coding, support coding staff, and conduct special projects while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services
  • Provide support to coding staff by resolving complex cases and issues
  • Maintain current knowledge of coding conventions and collaborate with teams to develop coding guidelines
Required qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
  • Minimum four years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Associates degree in health administration, RHIT certification, or equivalent experience
  • Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
