Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations, the full-time Maryland Certified Professional Coder will manage the assignment of diagnostic and procedure coding, assist in resolving complex coding issues, and contribute to the development of educational materials while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services
  • Provide support to coding staff by resolving complex coding cases and issues
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical groups to develop and communicate coding guidelines
Required qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
  • Minimum four years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Associates degree in health administration, RHIT certification, or equivalent experience
  • Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and work independently
