Maryland Certified Professional Coder

Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding standards, the full-time Maryland Certified Professional Coder will manage diagnostic and procedure coding, assist with complex coding inquiries, and support the development of educational materials, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services
• Resolve complex coding cases and provide support to coding staff
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding conventions, guidelines, and regulatory requirements

Required qualifications:

• Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
• Minimum four years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
• Associate's degree in health administration, RHIT certification, or two years of related experience
• Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and work independently
