Maryland Configuration Management Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Maryland Configuration Management Specialist who will manage change, configuration, and incident operations for a federal customer, ensuring governance and control while driving efficiency and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and manage the change management process to ensure controlled changes and incident resolution
• Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and enforce Configuration Item (CI) identification standards for audit readiness
• Oversee the incident lifecycle, including triage, prioritization, and root cause analysis, while producing after-action reports to prevent recurrence

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Strong grounding in ITIL principles, particularly in change, configuration, incident, problem, and release management
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (Change module and CMDB) and familiarity with SharePoint and Confluence
• Experience facilitating CABs and coordinating approvals across stakeholders
• Familiarity with federal security and compliance expectations (FISMA, NIST) or a willingness to learn
