Job Summary
To support a growing cybersecurity initiative, the full-time Maryland Cyber Security Engineer will design, build, and maintain robust security architectures across hybrid environments, while enabling SOC capabilities and translating regulatory requirements into technical controls, working remotely in authorized states.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement technical solutions for SOC alert orchestration and automated risk monitoring for GRC
- Lead the integration of security tools to ensure a unified security posture across environments
- Assist in technical risk assessments by identifying vulnerabilities and recommending remediation strategies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT and Security, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role
- Strong coding/scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automating security tasks
- Deep understanding of SIEM logic, YARA rules, and EDR configuration
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, or hands-on technical certifications like GIAC or OSCP
