Job Summary
Detail-oriented and experienced, the full-time Maryland Licensed Cancer Data Specialist will work remotely to capture high-quality oncology data in compliance with state and national standards, utilizing systems like Cerner and Mosaiq.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately identify, collect, and abstract comprehensive cancer-related data
- Interpret medical documentation to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes
- Perform lifetime follow-up on cancer cases and support the development of Survivorship Care Plans
Required qualifications
- Experience as an Oncology Data Specialist is required
- Knowledge of cancer registry standards and relevant coding/classification systems
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), preferably Cerner and Mosaiq
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to continued education and maintaining relevant credentials and certifications
