Maryland Licensed CDI Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Maryland Licensed CDI Specialist will facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through interaction with physicians and other healthcare professionals while working remotely during normal business hours.

Key responsibilities:

• Participate in clinical documentation improvement initiatives at the organizational level
• Communicate with physicians regarding unclear or conflicting medical record documentation to clarify information and educate on severity of illness
• Provide daily clinical evaluation of medical records, including documentation, lab results, and treatment plans

Required qualifications:

• Three years of clinical acute care nursing experience or completion of Health Records Administration program (RHIA) or Accredited Record Technician (RHIT) with three years of experience in DRG selection
• Prior CDI work experience is preferred
• Knowledge of computer technology, quality assurance activities, and DRG is highly preferred
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff and healthcare providers
• Current Maryland licensure or equivalent certifications required
