Job Summary
To support coding accuracy and regulatory compliance, the full-time remote Maryland Licensed Coding Educator will develop and deliver education programs, conduct coding audits, and collaborate with coding leadership to enhance coding practices and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Develops and delivers coding education and training programs based on identified learning needs and audit findings
- Conducts coding quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and payer guidelines
- Provides education and guidance to coding staff to support accurate code assignment and address complex coding scenarios
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in health information management, nursing, or a related field
- Five or more years of professional medical coding experience, including education and training roles
- CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent nationally recognized coding certification
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Experience developing or delivering coding education and training materials for coding staff or clinical teams
