Maryland Licensed Coding Educator

Job Summary

To support coding accuracy and regulatory compliance, the full-time remote Maryland Licensed Coding Educator will develop and deliver education programs, conduct coding audits, and collaborate with coding leadership to enhance coding practices and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develops and delivers coding education and training programs based on identified learning needs and audit findings
• Conducts coding quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and payer guidelines
• Provides education and guidance to coding staff to support accurate code assignment and address complex coding scenarios

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in health information management, nursing, or a related field
• Five or more years of professional medical coding experience, including education and training roles
• CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent nationally recognized coding certification
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Experience developing or delivering coding education and training materials for coding staff or clinical teams
