Maryland Licensed Coding Support

Job Summary

To support the Coding Team, the full-time Maryland Licensed Coding Support will research medical necessity and coding information, contact imaging centers for necessary addendums, and resolve reports in the Transcription and Need Report queues while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Research various RIS systems for medical necessity and coding information
• Contact imaging centers and hospitals for addendums or additional information needed for accurate coding
• Resolve reports in the Transcription and Need Report queues and communicate issues to the Supervisor

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two to four years of experience in a medical billing environment
• Proficiency in Word and Excel
• Ability to pass the Super Coder exam; CPC-A or CPC credential preferred
• Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality
