Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Maryland Licensed Histo-Technician, the full-time position will manage specimen preservation and archiving, lead digital cataloging and quality control, and support clinical and research inquiries while working onsite in Silver Spring/Bethesda, MD.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the full lifecycle of tissue specimen handling including fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining
- Create and maintain electronic record-keeping systems and user-friendly databases for archival research
- Advise users on preservation methods and respond to archival research inquiries
Required qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a medical or clinical setting working with tissue samples
- Strong knowledge of anatomical pathological tissue processing and mandatory standards for specimen collection and storage
- Proven ability in database maintenance and Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific or Technical discipline
- ASCP Histology certification (or eligibility) and T1 Investigation clearance
