Maryland Licensed Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Responsible for underwriting conventional loans, the full-time Maryland Licensed Mortgage Underwriter will manage a pipeline of loans, conduct underwriting reviews, and ensure compliance with company and investor standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage individual pipeline by completing conventional loan underwriting and reviews within established turn times
• Identify document deficiencies and request additional information from clients as needed
• Assist other departments in interpreting underwriting guidelines and updating loan statuses

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of mortgage industry experience, with 3 years of recent frontline underwriting experience preferred
• Knowledge of FNMA and FHLMC guidelines and proficiency with automated underwriting systems
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Encompass LOS experience preferred
• Project management experience and strong customer/client service skills
• College degree preferred but not required
