Job Summary
Supporting the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center's Cancer Registry, the PRN Maryland Licensed Oncology Registrar will independently review medical records to identify reportable cancer cases and accurately abstract patient data into the registry database, all while working fully remote.
Key responsibilities
- Identify reportable cancer cases through casefinding activities
- Perform complete and accurate cancer abstracting using current national and state reporting standards
- Conduct follow-up activities to maintain accurate patient outcome information and complete quality assurance reviews
Required qualifications
- Current Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) credential required
- Associate degree or other health information management credentials preferred
- Minimum five years of cancer registry abstracting experience preferred
- Experience using Oncolog, Epic, Aria, and Microsoft Office applications preferred
- Strong knowledge of cancer registry reporting requirements and coding guidelines
