Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations, the full-time Maryland Licensed Professional Coder will manage the assignment of diagnostic and procedure coding, support coding staff with complex cases, and contribute to the development of educational materials while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services
  • Resolve complex coding cases and assist in responding to inquiries from other coders and providers
  • Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and collaborate with teams to develop coding and documentation standards
Required qualifications
  • Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
  • At least four years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Associate's degree in health administration or RHIT certification, or two years of related experience
  • Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification
  • High school diploma or GED is required
