Job Summary

Ensuring compliance with coding standards, the full-time Maryland Licensed Professional Coder will research and assign diagnostic and procedure codes, support coding staff with complex cases, and contribute to the development of educational materials while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services
  • Resolve complex coding cases and provide support to coding staff
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to develop coding and documentation guidelines
Required qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology
  • Minimum four (4) years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Associates degree in health administration, RHIT certification, or two (2) years of related experience
  • Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification required
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
