Job Summary

To support accurate hospital reimbursement and compliance, the full-time Maryland Licensed Senior Inpatient Coder will analyze, code, and abstract complex inpatient cases remotely, ensuring adherence to ICD-10-CM/PCS standards while collaborating with clinical staff and maintaining high coding quality and productivity rates.

Key responsibilities
  • Accurately code hospital inpatient accounts, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and senior coders to resolve documentation issues and share coding expertise
  • Monitor daily work to facilitate timely billing processes and maintain coding quality and productivity standards
Required qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; formal ICD-10-CM and CPT training preferred
  • Minimum of three years of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding experience in a Level 1 Trauma and Rehab hospital or four years in inpatient coding
  • Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) is required
