Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Financial Counselor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist low-income, uninsured, and underinsured patients in applying for financial assistance programs and securing healthcare coverage
• Manage patient inquiries and documentation related to insurance eligibility and enrollment processes
• Educate patients about health insurance options, assist with applications, and maintain accurate records of patient interactions

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma with 3-5 years of customer service experience in healthcare or human services; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must complete MassHealth's curriculum for Certified Application Counselor and maintain certification annually
• 2-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or human services setting
• Bilingual candidates and those with hospital/healthcare experience are strongly preferred
• Strong technical skills and proficiency in utilizing Epic and external database systems
