Job Summary
To support the legal team, the full-time Massachusetts Licensed Associate Counsel in General Litigation will assess legal threats, manage litigation risk, and collaborate with internal partners and outside counsel while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Assess lawsuits, demand letters, and customer complaints to develop response strategies
- Draft and review court filings in collaboration with outside counsel, managing litigation matters from assessment to resolution
- Provide legal guidance on business issues and represent the company in small claims court as needed
Required qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably at a law firm; in-house experience is a plus
- Juris Doctor Degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for in-house counsel admission in Massachusetts
- A practical approach to analyzing legal issues and assessing risk
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
