Job Summary

To support effective patient care, the full-time Massachusetts Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will review electronic medical records for documentation accuracy, provide coding education to clinicians, and conduct chart reviews to ensure compliance with risk adjustment standards, all while working remotely from Massachusetts.

Key responsibilities
  • Reviews encounters in electronic medical records to ensure clinician documentation accuracy and appropriateness
  • Conducts concurrent and retrospective abstraction for Atrius Risk Adjustment programs, including chart reviews and diagnosis code assignments
  • Provides training to clinicians on risk adjustment programs and participates in the development of related procedures
Required qualifications
  • Graduate of a State-approved school of nursing
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts
  • Certification as a professional coder or ability to obtain certification while working in the position
  • 3+ years of nursing experience, including clinical experience with chronic disease patient populations
  • Experience with electronic medical records and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet programs
