Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Massachusetts Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will review electronic medical records for accuracy, ensure proper documentation for risk adjustment programs, and provide clinician training while working remotely from Massachusetts.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews encounters in electronic medical records to ensure clinician documentation aligns with risk adjustment program standards
- Conducts chart reviews and assigns accurate diagnosis codes to the Problem List, ensuring compliance with coding regulations
- Provides training to clinicians on risk adjustment programs and collaborates with the coding education team to enhance documentation practices
Required qualifications
- Graduate of a State-approved school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted license to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts
- Certification as a professional coder (CPC, CCS-P, CCS, CPC-H, CRC-risk, AAPC) or ability to obtain certification while employed
- 3+ years of nursing experience, including clinical experience with chronic disease patient populations
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer applications
