Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on nonprofit law, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and supporting administrative matters
• Provide legal guidance to the Executive Teams and Boards of Directors, addressing risk management and governance issues
• Negotiate and review contracts, oversee intellectual property, and support organizational growth through legal advice

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing in the U.S., preferably with knowledge of Massachusetts corporate law
• Minimum 10 years of legal experience, with a focus on nonprofit, corporate, and employment law
• Familiarity with legal requirements for fundraising, grants, and lobbying for U.S. 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations
• Demonstrated integrity and excellent judgment in balancing mission-driven priorities with legal obligations
