Job Summary

To support critical outreach efforts, the part-time Massachusetts Licensed Hotline Operator will manage incoming calls, engage with callers using a harm reduction framework, and provide compassionate assistance to individuals seeking help with substance use issues in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and respond to incoming hotline calls, providing support and resources to callers
• Engage in meaningful conversations with individuals actively using drugs, utilizing a harm reduction approach
• Maintain monthly call requirements to remain active on the hotline team

Required qualifications

• Massachusetts Licensed Hotline Operator certification
• Experience in crisis intervention or support services related to substance use
• Strong dedication to harm reduction and saving lives
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
• Excellent communication skills, especially with diverse populations
