Massachusetts Licensed Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder III - Per Diem.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
• Assign ICD-10 CM and PCS codes in compliance with coding guidelines
• Collaborate with leadership to analyze denial reports and participate in audits for accurate documentation and billing

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
• Three years of experience in ICD-10-CM and PCS coding
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Preferred: Associate's degree and five years of inpatient coding experience in a teaching hospital or Level One Trauma Center
