MATE Outreach Coordinator

Job Summary

To support educational outreach and workforce development, the part-time MATE Outreach Coordinator will collaborate with Rutgers faculty on initiatives related to ocean technology, engage students in the MATE competition ecosystem, and help launch student teams for the upcoming competition season.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement the Competition of Profilers initiative
• Engage in outreach activities to promote student participation in the MATE competition
• Assist in launching and mentoring Rutgers student teams for the 2026-2027 MATE competition season

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, science, engineering, marine science, environmental science, technology, or a related field
• Minimum of two years of experience in education, outreach, mentoring, or STEM programming
• Experience with educational outreach or mentoring students
• Familiarity with STEM competitions or project-based learning
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners
